I started this documentary project in China in 2009. My objective was to explore several cities, usually less exposed to the western world than Shanghai, Beijing or Guanzhou. I focused again on the urban evolution, working in districts and neighbourhoods that were very alive and active at that time, but problably bound to transformation in a nearby future. I visited Zhengzhou and Shenyang in 2009, Wuhan in 2010, Changsha in 2013. My intention was to continue with Nanyang and conclude in Chongqing, but I suspended and finally stopped the project after being diagnosed with Menière's disease in 2013. The disease made it challenging for me; I used to walk on my own several hours a day, frequently alone in remote areas, and it was not possible anymore, as my energy level was dropping over time and being exposed to sudden crisis at any time. The project gives more space to Street Photography, even if I approached it with a documentary mindset, particularly in Zhengzhou and Shenyang, where I covered a different section of the city every day, selected on a travel map grid.
