I conducted this project mostly in 2009 and 2010, with a few rolls taken in 2013. Initially, it was intended to be a "visual detox" after Shanghai in JPG, and a way to re-appropriate the european landscape to myself, after 7 years or so spent in Asia. But it gradually took an interesting shape, and I decided to turn it into a documentary work.
It was done in the western outskirts of Paris, which include the modern business and financial district of La Défense. The conceptual idea was to follow the T2 tramway line and the 190 bus line as a thread, and thus to test the visual consistency of the landscape, in an area very close to Paris and under a gentrification process. It gave the weird title of the series T2190.
