I am a back lane man. I like to take a turn, randomly, only guided by my instinct, and walk down narrow lanes; There is always something to discover somewhere, at the end of a narrow lane, and trying to capture something from nothing is a good challenge, and a form of poetry, a genuine way to interact with our environment.
Most of the photography projects I have developed until recently are documentary projects, conducted across the globe, in Asia and particularly in China, in India, and in Europe. Over the past couplef of years, I shifted to a more contemplative and reflective form of photography. Firstly by using the opportunity of my travels to simply capture what cities can offer, visual traces, anecdotes, fragments. Trees, flowers have started to emerge and flourish in the viewfinder; Then, by spending more efforts on a reflective and mindful photography, to explore my inner perception of the world. |
For as long as I can remember, poetry has always been in my life. I discovered it with my mother, and started to write poems in my childhood. When I was only 14 or 15 years old, I discovered Artaud, the Surrealists, Breton, Reverdy, and many others poets that I still keep close to my heart; Later, anglo-saxon poets and writers (T.S Eliot, William Carlos Williams, Kerouac, Robert Frost; Robert Lax), the Chinese classic poets, Basho, Taneda Santoka and the Japanese Haikuists. It's difficult for me to comment my poems. I can only say that when I write, I have the feeling of being connected to another inner and transcending dimension, even beyonds words, concepts, and sense.
