I wanted to experiment something different in these color and night series, and keep away from the b&w documentary projects I was conducting at the same period in China. I enjoyed the freedom of using the versatility of the digital camera at night, and the easy way things were going. There is a special feeling in the Tokyo nights. Like in any places in the world, people behave differently, more naturally, outspoken and extraverted, also disclosing their distress and profound lonelisness, painted and faked in the contrasts of the bright colors of the sin city.
